Dramatic , one of a kind, original charcoal and graphite drawing of two iconic revolutionaries. A wonderfully collectible piece of documentary art on archival quality materials. A must have for any serious collector of political and documentary art. Fidel Castro and Che Guevara were best of friends and shared the same political and personal views. Here we see them sharing a cigar following their successful overthrow of Batista in 1959. Che was the son of a prominent Argentine family who never practiced as a medical doctor, following his graduation from medical school. Che , instead devoted his life to helping the poor escape the bonds of tyranny . A motorcycle tour of South America left Che so shaken by the poverty he witnessed, he decided to devote his life to liberating the oppressed. Ruthless in their methods, including executions and hangings with out due process. Che and Castro have their detractors. One thing is for sure,, they changed the course of history forever.

The artist became skilled in India ink wash techniques while achieving his bachelor's degree in advertising illustration from Youngstown State University. India ink washes were the standard of the fashion illustration trade up until the end of the 20th century after which time practically all artwork became computer generated. Ink washes are an incredibly fluid and difficult medium, sharing many of the nuances of watercolor pigments which the artist has chosen as his primary medium.
