About The Artwork

My Pyramid Scheme series continues with this work on paper, Pyramid Scheme 32. Subject Matter: An imposing pyramid floats at the top center of the piece, paired with a dark cloud. Other pyramidal forms are echoed throughout the piece. We also find green-edged cubes and thinner slabs of some unknown material - glass perhaps? Whatever they are, one of them appears to be reflecting something. We also notice smoky lines, reminiscent of creased paper or the interface of two dissimilar materials. The work is made on 80-lb. cream-colored acid-free paper. Materials used are charcoal, acrylic paint, conte crayon, marker, and colored pencil. It is sprayed with a coat of fixative to prevent smudging, but careful handling is encouraged. The back is signed, dated, and titled. The front can be signed if requested. This item is available matted at no extra charge - just let me know your preference. Paper Dimensions: 9" x 9" Image Dimensions: 8.75" x 8.75" Mat Opening: 8.5" x 8.5" Mat Outer Dimensions: 12" x 12"

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I create abstract art with a focus on gestural abstraction, mark-making, geometry, and color. My work begins with rudimentary shapes or forms. As I explore their properties they often mutate and interact in unexpected ways. Additionally, I find that certain colors seem to resonate with each other. I find it valuable to view multiple finished works together, either actively or unconsciously. Sometimes, just seeing multiple works near each other through my peripheral vision will inspire one or more new works. In this way my discoveries continually compound and combine to yield new ones. I want to create things people haven't seen before. In doing this I hope to remind the viewer what it feels like to experience a particular color, smell, or other sensation for the first time. I hope to build a visual world which is strange, playful, intriguing and enduring. I am based in Cleveland, Ohio.
