About The Artwork
This piece comes in a set with “Childhood” and “Still alive” artworks. All three pieces are made from a single piece of linden wood. The artist says: “Angel time was the first piece I cut out, but it is envisioned as the last piece of the set. I had a totally different idea at first, of what to do with that piece of wood, but it gradually transformed into this exquisite three-piece set. They represent the three major stages in our lives – childhood, adulthood and elderhood." The wings and the wood insertion are shaped from an actual copper pipe (it still has the technical engraving on it). The piece also mimics an hourglass with clock wheel gears which have a downward flow. The piece serves both as an eccentric work of display art as well as a mirror. The idea behind the mirror usage was to create an effect of actually capturing time and seeing your own reflection as time passes.
