About The Artwork
I lived my childhood in a suburb which was physically isolated and surrounded by fields. The ugly 70's buildings influenced my daily experience living there. Social problems grew over the years. Common past time was playing Monopoly and other games. The red wall reminds me of one of the high buildings in the area. The wall also represents the social isolation of the area. People went to work somewhere else and the area was somekind of storage area for the people. Nobody cared about the environment, because nobody owned them.

1972 Helsinki. At the moment I work as a painter, but I have also created environmental art works as well as installations. I'm interested in mythology, spirituality, storytelling and discovering old stories. In paintings colors have symbolic but personal meaning to me and the lanscapes are usually inner landscapes and metaphorical. I love to create 3D spaces as a setting for 'something' to happen.
