Extraction Protocol: Spalted Tamarind Installation

This is the second piece is my new "Extraction" series featuring exotic woods and metallic paints to create a very contrasting yet understandable scene. This series explores my feelings of how mankind utilizes the natural world around him. It is in our nature to take the raw materials around us, to extract what we need, to use them to make bigger and better things that never would have existed without us. Yet it is also clearly in our nature to exploit, to over-use, to accept problems being out of sight and out of mind. We take, we mold, we create. We extract and we extrapolate, humans do a dance with the world around us and here is my contribution.
