About The Artwork
“Fallen angel” is the story of every one of us. We each have our own battles and the scars are there to remind us of the wins and losses. We fight, we bleed, we suffer, we fall; but in the end it is our own responsibility to put the pieces of our souls back together. The beauty of it all is that we can choose the order in which we put these pieces back. We can decide how to rebuild ourselves. This exquisite artwork is a symbol of the battles we lead in our lives. The red paint represents the blood shed where the angel wings pierce the “skin”. The shattered pieces of mirror are roughly cut, finely polished and carefully placed onto the wood in order to shape the angel’s body. Your reflection in the mirror pieces is a constant reminder that no matter how hard life gets, you are the master of your fate and you choose how to make yourself whole again. The halo is made from thin copper and is slightly tilted, as if it bows with humbleness.
