Textile Media – Art Installation at the Gallery MODUL 1 / Flensburg / Germany Concept with Real Blood. „The connection between textile aesthetics in spaces and media installations is becoming a steadily growing research area in the sector of contemporary art. Due to innovative textile projects using unusual materials it is possible to explore new aesthetic perceptual processes. This installation allows the beholder to perceive a textile product as a symbiotically altered room installation, in the form of a blood-soaked dress and a medially changed garment within a digital installation. The installation is a means of expressing the fast pace of our society as well as the effects on man. The medially changed garment in the film fragments of the digital triptych is distinctively darker than the original, because it can be changed to its opposite with the given technical possibilities.. This very transformation can also take place in the human psyche under certain circumstances, e.g. stress, mental overload and traumatic events. The single fragments of the dance performance shown are another expression for the feelings that are associated with this change. Due to the surreal and deforming motions that demonstrate unchecked control and irreality, the dancer bridges the inside and the outside of a person in the room.“ The blood on the dress alludes to the exploitation in the textile industry in production countries.
