Move me # 3 is part of a 3-piece installation, exhibited at Museum Het Markiezenhof and Docfeed 2016. This part is an engine driven flipbox: animated images with 5 wooden flipboxes, build in a steel frame (on wheels), driven by an engine, powered on electricity. Watch the video of the installation on: www.instagram.com/p/BX2fpUCglve/?taken-by=annemariekevanpeppen Move me Thanks to social media and selfies people become more conscious of their appearances and how they want to show themselves to the outside world. They have thereby developed a 'photo glance', an attitude that is usually tense and fake. To make the models natural and relaxed again I made them move. Thus, I finally got to see the real person with an often strong expression. The babypowder on the faces is ruthless, it reveiles every wrinkle and imperfection, characteristics wich make people unique, alive, interesting and beautifull. Move me is not just about movement, it's about the way people move me when they dare to be vulnerable and show me their real selves.

Annemarieke van Peppen (Rotterdam 1971) studied fashion at the Academy of Arts and Industry (AKI) in Enschede. She traveled through Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia, had exhibitions with controlled polaroid art and combined her artistic existence for years with other jobs, a private company for web design and care for her foster children. Since renting a new studio in 2014, her work is flourishing again and exhibitions in her home country and abroad followed. The impact art projects of van Peppen are characterized by questioning and researching current social developments under the influence of social media. Both in her impact art and in her free work you can see the desire for repetition and the search for the beauty of imperfect human beings.
