A Tall Story - short story written to mark the 100th anniversary of the Suffragette movements’ (failed) attempt to blow up Smeaton’s Tower on Plymouth Hoe on 19th April, 1913. 'The bomb was to be planted on the tower step soon after nightfall, on the evening of the 18th April. I knew the bomb would be a simple, cylindrical tin filled with explosives and a fuse attached. The canister would have a label, with the trademark inscription; ‘Votes for Women, Death in Ten Minutes’.
