UNITED SEPARATION Installation

The descriptive details of the box are correct, however in one of the photos your notice a piece of string that hangs below the box that extends its parts. The work his mainly made up from a handmade cardboard box reinforced at its back with builders hardboard that gives it added strength to its construction, it is covered in cut strips of canvas and as a undivided piece of hessian string that stems from a spiral above two arches. This piece of string runs concurrent from this spiral centre uncut underneath the canvas that makes up the two seperate arches. But part of the story of its narrative is in the visual appearances, that is nothing is really separated about the the two arches, that the thin string unites them under the illusion of what appears appearances. All this ties in with my main interest and questioning of spaces and gaps and seperation. Only 'MAYPOLE' makes the suggestion! All this in the work that is shown plays itself out in many variables and circumstances of our life's. And in its construction he suggests' therein is a verse to a visual metaphor in regards separation of 'things' and theres a real link of hope' towards unification of things' if we think outside of the box we have been given to think and perceive we have lost either in thought or feeling and action or possession of someone or something of another ! MAYPOLE suggests this so called persistent illusion we call appearances of life'' are tied up with very much with letting go and loss and a sense of separation. But MAYPOLE in his thinking and his work puts forward that nothing is really lost deep down, just changed into something else to something else's meaning.
