About The Artwork

This image shows the installation (video-performance + 3D sculpture of the performer) of the Project: A Poet in New York by Beatriz Albuquerque. In this project Beatriz Albuquerque explores the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca who wrote in NY a collection of poems that were compiled in a book entitled POETA EN NUEVA YORK” (1929-1930). These poems are the departure for 7 performances by Beatriz Albuquerque in NY. These public interventions deconstruct and rethink Lorca's poems both vocally and physically.
