This installation consists of a pair of wooden stilts built so that the measure from the floor to the feet brackets is exactly the same as the artist’s height. Therefore, the stilts are measuring units that can be used to measure the width of the area. In this case the matrix can potentially be doubled, as stilts are the very tool to double it.

Italy
I was born in 1988 in Italy (Turin), where I live and work. Each of my projects is a paradoxical attempt to decontextualize: I try to make myself neutral, with the aim of highlighting the impossibility of being objective with respect to the perceived. I extrapolate images from a precise context, cutting them out, memorizing them. I relocate them elsewhere and isolate them with the dual aim of eliminating meanings and opening new ones. What motions occur in our brain when we create something? Creative thinking is a way of using thought, a way that generates variations to the usual course of our reasoning. I am interested in investigating this variation. In order to relate to its environment, man has always created codes such as language, units of measurement, classification systems. These tools are essential for interacting with the surrounding reality and with other people. What happens when a code, a thought pattern, is subverted? There creative thought comes into action: a real movement of cells that generates new synapses, new paths in our brain. This process occurs not only in the act of creating a work of art, but in all situations where it is essential to find a way out, a plan b. Here, literally, if “we use the brain”, the solution emerges. Subverting the royalties does just that.
