About The Artwork
The endless repetition of waves rolling on to the beach was the inspiration for the design of this tapestry. In this work I’ve tried to catch the tranquillity of het sea as well as the rhythm, the rise of a pattern and the endless repetition, yet each time slightly different. The difference is captured in the diversity of the material, which is wool, but wool of different breeds or occasionally combined with different fibres, such as flax, linen and silk. The tapestry has a comfortable appearance, not importunately present, yet if it is gone, you will miss it. It has a smoothing effect on sound and improves acoustic.
