About The Artwork
On a visit to a luxury saddle maker in Portugal my eyes were drawn to the discarded pieces of leather strewn over the floor which were to be discarded. I asked if I could recuperate them which I did! Delighted by my a bag full of gorgeous leather off-cuts, i proceeded to assemble some over my acrylic background. I loved the organic juxtaposition of the colours, shapes and materials which came together in a series of works. This one is called an Equine Story, for it is, and its ‘siblings’ are An Equine Symphony, a tryptich. I am sure I will make some more as there is so much movement and melody, tactile, fragrant and zero waste! Hope you will love them too!
