About The Artwork

Pigment Printed Photograph on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310 gsm, 100% alpha-cellulose, White Matt Textured FineArt paper. Hand gilded with with oxidised blue Silver leaf, coloured Silver leaf in Turquoise, gold Metal leaf and Aluminium leaf. The metal leaf give the artwork depth and a three-dimensional quality. It moves and changes with the light throughout the day. At night it will capture ambient light so the image fades to the background and what you see most is the gilded pattern. My logo is gilded on two opposing corners and the frame made to allow versatile hanging, thus enabling four different orientations. As one of the mediums used to create the artwork is a photograph, my works are editioned. Editions will only be created upon commission, with a total of 5 for this piece. This is edition 1. Each edition will have different gilding patterns and metal leaf types, making them distinct artworks. I am often drawn to photographing trees, particularly their bark, which harbours a diverse array of lives. To me they mirror our own universe with us as celestial bodies in its skies. 'Atlas' was made to compliment 'Nebula' and named by my daughter who saw the profile of a blue Grecian male!

Pari creates mixed-media abstract artwork by blending closeup captures of tree bark with delicate application of metal leaf, adding depth and a three-dimensional quality that shifts with the light throughout the day. Each piece unveils multiple layers and hidden details, offering new perspectives depending on the amount and the direction of the light. Her artworks are often signed with metal leaf on opposing corners, allowing for versatile hanging and creating the potential for four distinct views in one piece. This reflects her belief that everyones view point is unique and so she creates the potential for four distinct artworks in one piece thus further enhancing the dynamic and interactive experience for viewers. Her creative process begins with a photograph of a tree trunk, carefully cropped to reveal a small section,The image is then pigment printed onto Matt Textured FineArt paper. The gilding process unfolds organically. As it settles, the three-dimensional quality draws attention to the unseen secondary life and landscape existing upon the bark's surface, inviting viewers to contemplate the beauty lying beneath the surface—a realm hidden from casual observation now brought to the forefront. Pari's artwork becomes a visual representation of our multi-layered world, where the visible and the concealed intertwine. "I believe that we live in a world full of beauty. Through my art, I aim to awaken viewers' ability to perceive beauty beyond the surface, offering a glimpse into the mysteries of our surroundings and reminding us of the extraordinary in the ordinary. My ultimate goal is to elevate the ordinary, inspiring joy and uplifting the viewer's imagination to a world of possibilities. One could say that my work reflects influences from my Iranian cultural heritage, my 30 years of living in the garden of England, and my fascination with the minutiae stemming from my previous profession as a dentist !! Experimenting with abstraction, I aim to capture impressions rather than exact images using a Canon EOS 6D. Currently my inspiration almost always comes from nature, which draws me in with its varying colour combinations, forms and movements. I am often drawn to photographing trees, particularly their bark, which harbours a diverse array of lives. To me it mirrors our own universe with us as celestial bodies in its skies.
