As the sun gracefully dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow over Newfoundland Bay, the oceanic giant, proudly bearing the name "Avalon," stands resolute at the pier. This monumental vessel, a tribute to the beauty and power of maritime engineering, symbolizes a world of open spaces, freedom, lightness, and unbridled happiness. The artist, deeply inspired by the majesty of this magnificent ship and the enchanting evening ambiance, embarked on a quest to capture the essence of this maritime marvel. The Avalon, with its graceful lines and imposing presence against the tranquil waters, invites viewers to contemplate the sheer beauty of a ship harmoniously melding with the expansive Newfoundland Bay. The choice of medium, oil on canvas, was made with careful consideration. It allowed the artist to masterfully depict the intricate interplay of light and water during the enchanting evening hours, with the ship's name shimmering like a beacon. Viewers of this artwork are encouraged to feel a sense of awe and reverence for the seamless fusion of human ingenuity and the boundless expanse of the sea. The Avalon is not merely a vessel; it is a vessel of dreams and exploration, encapsulating the adventurous spirit of maritime journeys. To echo the sentiments of this scene, a few lines from the poet John Masefield resonate: "I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by."

Valentyna Rybkina was born in 1977. After graduating from National University with a Master's in Politology and Sociology, she started to oil paint in 2013 as a self-taught artist influenced by great artists like Aivazovsky. She invites you to remember with her paintings the sunny and happy places you may have visited or plan to visit again, to see how beautiful nature is. She hopes you can look at the colors of her painting, enjoy them, relax, and forget about your problems. Life is good ;) She is especially interested in oil landscapes (ocean and seascape) and has always been passionate about flowers - these are the main thematic focus of all her works.
