CRAZY 2 Artwork

CRAZY 2 is part of a larger collection of work, LIVING, ASSISTED. Each quilt is created from old "to-do" list I've kept from previous jobs. The CRAZY collection is made up of 5 total quilts, 1 large piece and 4 smaller accompanied pieces. CRAZY 2 is the only quilt left for sale in this collection. There are 26 quilts in Living, Assisted. 6 Large master works, and 20 smaller versions aiding in the conversation of the show. Each piece was sewn in a traditional style of quilting. The work in Living, Assisted, is about finding my voice and reintroducing myself to myself. It is establishing a visual agreement as a manifesto with myself, to not let others hijack my time, my breath and life; to hold space for myself first then to others who return the favor. My approach to artmaking as a healing ritual generates self-reflection and reinvents the detritus from an old life into the materials of my new life. Living, Assisted is about taking control, and assisting myself first and then putting the oxygen mask on someone else.
