Dandelions in the Meadow Artwork

Dandelions and sunflowers are amongst my favorite plants and flowers. I decided to make them the main subject of this floral design where they contrast in color with the purple flowers at bottom. This beautiful weed, the corresponding purple flowers, the lush greenery, and the open backdrop are my ideal elements to creating a warm, soothing work of art. Artist Statement: My subject matter is a very traditional appreciation of aesthetics. I love creating sceneries, landscapes, still lifes, but most of all my favorite subject matter is the human figure. I love drawing the human figure and I love drawing the female form and the depiction of the female as art. As an effort of self expression I love depicting the type of female form I grew up appreciating as an idea of beauty and that is the natural hair, curvy, black woman. I mostly create digital art prints for Saatchi but I am also proficient in oils and other traditional mediums. All of my art is created directly from the imagination without the use of models or photographs. The message that resides in each one of my pieces is simply "this is what I love doing and this is what I see as art". And I hope to inspire others to be who they truly are and to express themselves wholeheartedly.
