Echoes of Distant Waves - Limited Edition 2 of 195 Artwork

During a visit to a fine art gallery in Laguna Beach California I was exposed to some very cool yet very typical beach lifestyle art. Much of the art reflected the surfer lifestyle. This got me thinking about making a piece of surf art, but with my own unique twist. My idea took shape as a painted tropical coastline that has been flash frozen by unknown events. The weight of the ice and snow has been too much for some trees to support. To make matters even more extreme, there is evidence of a past fire! What remains is a landscape where virtually every element reminds the viewer of ocean waves that are now eerily silent. The piece was created primarily with acrylic paint and then enhanced digitally. In my opinion, the final appearance couldn't be achieved any other way and needs to be viewed in-person to fully appreciate.
