About The Artwork
An attempt to mix a woman's body and curves with architectural and urban elements. I used pictures that I took of the Museum of History of Marseilles. I wanted the result to seem similar to graffiti art with a Sci-Fi flair turning the museum into an mass floating in space. The choice of this specific building is based on it's creation date in the early 80's and it's futuristic appearance.

Born in France in 1976, LIPSTIK developes his art since early 2000. As an iconic figure of Montreal's underground art scene, he has established himself as a unique Pin-Up artist of another kind inspired by 70's and 80's pop and junk culture, disco, skateboard, sci-fiction and voodoo. His art pieces reach from mutant pin-ups, posing in flashy, super-sexy pre-apocalyptic worlds to technical graphic symbols and urban concrete melting with female body parts. In a unique retro-futuristic aesthetic, the artist combines photo montage with vector graphics. The pure lines and the skin rendering delicacy of Art Nouveau female models merge with the electric colors and style of the 80’s airbrush painting.
