ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Escape IV is a mixed-media artwork. The central part of the work (the sea and the sky) was painted with acrylic paint on paper. The wall and the floor are part of the print of Zeljka Paic’s older piece titled Strength. The goal was to find the perfect balance between nature and architecture. It is one-of-a-kind work. Zeljka Paic is a graduate of both the Academy of Fine Arts (2015) and the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (2011). Since 2017 she has exhibited her paintings internationally, showing her architecture-inspired paintings and sculptures from the series Art Beyond Frames. Her work has been exhibited as far and wide as Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, London, and New York. She was featured in The Guardian’s Future of Art - in Pictures article and picked as one of the top 5 artists by Art Aesthetics Magazine for The Other Art Fair in London in 2017. She received an award from the Association of Innovators of the Republic of Srpska for her contribution to the innovative approach to art, in 2024. Her artworks are collected in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, etc.
