About The Artwork
Once we have loved there are many aspects to their character where in we identify with them. Their joy, their softness, their heros, and their passion. Alas we must find a way to let go when they have gone, and yet celebrate the parts in our life they will most likely always have a connection to. This painting was made to celebrate one woman I knew who is gone, and it is in the reflections of dreams and hopes that lived somewhere between real and projection. Perhaps in capturing with some semblance of honor, that place of reflection related to her I may be freed from it's hold. The title is borrowed from a Radiohead song.that lends to both the real time we were involved and the journey to find perspective on who we are, priorities and the reconciliation of our limitations. Lord knows I was limited then, and perhaps now my love would be far richer in devotion and focus, It surely would be a experienced love, a older love, and one that a person really deserves. So here's to all the good times. May our spirits be liberated to love new. That we may look forward instead of only being drawn to long life through a window of the past. Legally blind, Michael's creative vision was developed in the study of Classical and modern theatrical literature. His extensive experience in stage performance and direction led to an appreciation of light and composition. After his hereditary condition caused him to stop working in theaters he started focusing his creative energies towards graphic arts and music development. Always aiming at metaphor, social politics and spirituality in his early creative work this expressive medium permitted him a creative bridge to the exproration of light and perspective. The recent nine years have been riffled with turmoils and a extraordinary personal experience with Yahweh and Christ. "How man is connected to world events and to history through the spirit is a mystery that always seems just beyond definition, beyond expression. Mine is an art that does not excuse my own moral sloth. My demands of me a choice. Though the ambiguity in enigma of it's expression gives room for the viewer to have their own journey. It is intriguing to me what values others project on the the matters or subjects in my work but there is a hope the budges in a direction of well, see for yourself.
