Houndstooth pattern was found in Scotland in 1800s, it was taken up and popularised by Coco Chanel, which we associate with luxury goods. Mandala on the other hand is a spiritual and ritual symbol in asian cultures. It's a marriage of Europe and Asia, modern and traditional - Luxury art with spiritual and ritual symbol. mandala has been gilded with 24 carat yellow gold. This artwork has been created on stretched box canvas , the iconic Houndstoot patter has been made of acrylic gel, painted black and gilded with gold gilding wax. mandala has been created with the same technique with acrylic gel, painted black and gilded with 24 carat yellow gold. The shimmery pattern on the white side has been created by hands with pearlescent white mineral paint.
