About The Artwork

One of a series produced after visiting China in 2015 and being inspired by a country caught in the fast pace of change yet working hard to maintain a sense of pride in their past. Heavenly Goblet: Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, hurricanes, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it. With this, the Emperor of China used the dragon as a symbol of his imperial power and strength. Photographs used are from the Shanghai Museum, The Forbidden City in Beijing and gardens at Suzhoe Liu. This is 2 of 5 giclees on aluminium and was featured in my two man show, June 2017, in Lancaster, UK. The exhibit garnered 6 sales, 300 visitors and 22 pages of positive feedback.
