About The Artwork
The history of bald ibis art goes back several thousand years. Once a sacred bird, a symbol of the god Thoth, it is now a rare species on the verge of extinction. There is something prehistoric about its appearance that I wanted to capture in this portrait of an ibis hunting a lizard. This bird is a descendant of the dinosaurs!
