About The Artwork
This painting is a distant descendant of one of the most famous works of the Louvre, namely the "Portrait of Gabrielle d'Estrée and her sister". No Renaissance atmosphere here, no refinement or decor, no face either, but just two bodies in a very raw mineral material, lacerated by a blue graffiti that blends into it in a subtle tone on tone. And, of course, this strange gesture where a woman pinches the tip of the other's breast, except that here the gesture becomes reciprocal, as in a mirror. This work is made in mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and raised squares). It is a unique piece. It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 49x71 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
