About The Artwork

" Man-machine integration on the ISS " 2011, Courtesy NASA photo. Digital painting 2022. In 2011 the International Space Station was still under construction. The central truss of the station was uncovered and the fantastic complexity of its technologies is visible. In this image two EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity) workers assemble the station, one on top of the truss and the other floating over the dark solar panels. With their white EVA suits they merge with the station. Sunita Williams, a NASA astronaut and US Navy officer of East Indian descent, accomplished until 2012 a total of 50 hours of EVA work. The ISS orbits the Earth every 90 minutes. Outside the station astronauts and cosmonauts work for six hours alternating 45 minutes in darkness and 45 minutes in sunlight. Although protected by their spacesuits they go continually from extreme cold to extreme heat. On May 9, 2022 Sunita described her EVA work on the ISS:“ It is entirely your sensory overload. It is every sensation that you have as a human being wrapped up in six hours…You see the planet right below you… (The ISS) It’s an engineering marvel. And you look at all the different pieces and parts that came from all the different agencies and countries and it’s amazing that we are able to put that all together. So it’s humbling, super humbling… All the work of all those people that culminated into this amazing laboratory!” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Yaiw9ISxG0 The 91cm print comes in a limited edition of nine with a certificate of authenticity. The print comes with a 2,5 cm white border. Made to order on archival cotton paper in 10 days plus shipping. Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

As an industrial photographer from Cologne, Germany, based since 1967 in Mexico City, I used my craft for decades to document scenes and subjects in sharp, detailed and well lit images. Back in the seventies, when simulating views of other planets, I was looking for a different perception of reality and found it with infrared color film. Today I enjoy a creative freedom similar to that of a painter. With the right combination of photograph and digital manipulation I can create images that are a tribute to imagination and beauty. Starting in 2019 I present on Saatchiart 15 collections as a synopsis of my photography, some digitally remastered and others digitally modified, for sale as archival inkjet prints in different sizes.
