Carolina Garcia-Freundt’s “Morning Walks” is a vibrant series that seems to capture the essence of her morning strolls in Miami through a rich tapestry of colors and shapes. The works exhibit a playful yet thoughtful use of mixed media, with crayon-like textures that add a tactile quality to each piece. The color palette is fresh and lively, reminiscent of a garden in bloom, with a dominance of greens, blues, and pinks, punctuated by dashes of yellow. She uses different materials beside regular acrylic paint (all fine art quality) to create texture: acrylic paint markers, water soluble wax pastels, ink pencils, watercolor pencils and charcoal. All her paints have a finish archival varnish to seal all materials and protect the piece. Also, she works with 1.5 inches profile canvas that she paint all around the sides so all pieces can be display without a frame.
