This male nude, in which we guess the presence of a second character off-screen by this hand stretched over the model's chest, owes its title to an episode from the Bible in which the risen Christ says to Mary Magdalene, who wants to s assure of his presence by physical contact: "Do not touch me" (translation from the Latin "Noli Me Tangere"). The proof of the resurrection is not physical proof, it is an act of Faith. In this painting, one can imagine that the man indicates to the second character to remove his hand and to believe in his existence by an act of love or faith, by thought and not by touch. This work is a one-of-a-kind piece and was made in mixed media on canvas. It combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and raised squares). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 66 x 51 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
