About The Artwork
This drawing came out of a nightmare. I had this dream of a shadowy figure tearing my chest apart and extracting my heart out of my body. The pain I felt was insufferable. I felt everything dying inside me... My dreams, my virtues, my love, my compassion... Everything gone... I found myself crawling on the floor and gasping for breath... I could not shout... I could not scream... The pain was so intense... When I manage to wake up and lift myself from the floor, I was so scared... and then I felt the need to draw what I saw on paper.... And I was running out of materials. I just had a couple of pencils, pilot pens and a half empty black marker... So I sketched with whatever I had available... Only recently, I maintained part of my penciling and I fractalized the background and the heart to put some color into my original black and white drawing. I have always loved photography and enjoyed sketching and painting. I love art but never considered a career in art (never felt I was good nor strong enough). Simple as it is, it took me a long time to understand that one creates for themselves. But then, there is this fire burning inside and you want to share. You want others to see what you see. You want them to feel what you feel and to react to what they see. And I love to see people smile. I love the way the face lights up with a genuine smile.
