David Denton is an architect and urban planner who has been working and experimenting in the virtual world of Second Life for the last six years. All of the images that he produces are 2-D photographs of 3-D installations built in the virtual world. Not all of the installations still exist but some do and can be accessed from any computer anywhere in the world. Upon entering one is assigned a default avatar and can literally walk and even fly through these installations. With each sale of a print of these 2-D photographs David Denton will give a personal tour of the virtual world via Skype and a virtual world platform. David Denton has created a number of innovative programs in the virtual world including project Kansas to Cairo, envisioned by Pres. Obama in his Cairo speech, which was cofounded by David Denton and Egyptian architect Amr Attia. This project was the first to use the virtual world for design collaboration between American and Egyptian architecture students via their avatars. The project was sponsored by the United States Department of State. David has initiated many other similar programs in the virtual world and is very committed to exploring the possibilities of creating art using this new technology.
