About The Artwork

A contemporary vision/interpretation of one of the most symbolic, meaningful and recognizabile icons of all times: the crucifixion of Jesus. To evoke the concept of Trinity, the artwork is based on Delaunay triangulation and looks like a cubist artwork. Study for a Crucifixion 002 is a new media artwork created with digital techniques and software, including AI and neural networks in particular. The final result is a one-of-a-kind, hi-res digital file printed on canvas, 90 x 60 cm., as a traditional painting.

> About me < As an Italian digital artist since 2019, I have chosen a path distinct from the hyper-realistic, high-resolution portrayal of humanity. Instead, my art celebrates the beauty of error, imperfection, and incompleteness. With over 100 NFTs, primarily unique 1/1 editions, acquired by collectors globally, I've earned recognition and inclusion in notable showcases such as the "Thank You | Makersplace Community Exhibition" and esteemed NFT projects like "Wings Of Champions" and "Life of Musk." > Artist Statement: Art as antidote to Homo Digitalis < In the 21st century, Homo Digitalis emerges as the undeniable embodiment of our era, a product of both biological and anthropological shifts propelled by the ubiquitous use of smartphones. Bent over screens, perpetually interconnected, Homo Digitalis skims the surface of life, passively drifting in a relentless stream of images, thereby diminishing its depth of understanding. This constant barrage acts as a potent sedative, numbing rational thought, erasing memories, and stifling the intricacies of contemplation. As a result, the continuous influx of visual and auditory stimuli fosters a pervasive sense of chaos and instability. A culture obsessed with the visual becomes inherently fragmented, mirroring the disjointed images that incessantly flash before the eyes of Homo Digitalis. Consequently, much is lost to the void, to obscurity, to forgetfulness. The rich tapestry of pre-digital existence, or its 'high resolution', is now oversimplified, trivialized, and broken down, inevitably devolving into a 'low resolution' world marked by pixelated clarity and glitched distortions. Crafted solely using a smartphone, my art aims to be both a reflection of and a remedy for Homo Digitalis, countering the fragmented culture of compulsive viewing and the epidemic of forgetfulness. Through pixels, triangulation, glitches, and other digital manipulation techniques, my subjects are simplified, fragmented, and distorted. Often, they appear suspended in a vast black void, symbolizing the profound emptiness, the abyss of obscurity, and the looming shadow of forgetfulness.
