About The Artwork
This is the third in the series of four paintings related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It portrays the shock and disbelief of the aggression against civilians of all ages during this war. The constant denial of civilian death and suffering is difficult to hear and impossible to believe. I wanted the canvas to show thin, scraped and tortured paint to underline the incivility of the situation these people must face daily.
