In this piece we see several of Albrecht's concepts at work: *The female body: Fragile and under attack. Events within the last decades have been showing that emancipation of women is still a far cry even in 2018. *Philosophical puzzle: Albrecht takes several subjects and positions them next to eachother to make the viewer think but also mess with their mind and their notions of reality. *Alchemy: An obsolete and ancient body of knowledge discarded by today's scientific community but still pertaining important but difficult to understand insights into human nature. *Wabi-Sabi: The pairing of natural, fragile structures with harsh inhumane perfection which enhances it's beauty. In this case the female body and alchemical symbols are placed within dehumanisingly perfect geometric lines. *Traps: Albrecht aims to "trap" the fragile images to galvanize their meaning. *Positioning: The moon is another theme in Albrecht's work and always emphasizes one's place in the universe. Some subjects (like feminism or sexuality) might seem very important, but everything is part of a far greater scheme which transcends humanity as a whole. *Frames within frames: Again adding to the Wabi-Sabi concept of beauty but also a trapping device. *Girlish pink and occult black - doors that lead to a place nobody knows about. Albrecht views this as a subject of life. We might have lofty discussions about equality, religion and sexuality but what will happen in the future is a mystery to all of us. *Optical Illusion as a device to transform meaning: Albrecht postulates the human eye is automatically drawn to sexual images. By multiplying and and strategically positioning the image however, it's meaning is also transformed. It no longer is a physical fixation but becomes a building block for a deeper narrative.
