TURBULENT CALM An original triptych inspired by the work of Vera Molnár, a pioneer of computer and algorithmic art. Each simple square element is algorithmically repeated in a turbulent grid. The placement and colouring of each square is truly random compared to what the human artist can achieve. For this work the randomness has been seeded with the inclusion of the artist's personal details creating a truly one-off aesthetic experience. Each element of this one-off triptych is a 20" square original photo print, silicone-sealed under polished premium acrylic glass, and mounted on a stable aluminium dibond panel. An integrated float-effect hanging system is attached to the rear. A Certificate of Authenticity is supplied. David Crosby, born and raised in London, but later schooling and family life was away from the hustle and bustle after a relocation to Middle England. After years in a beautiful Georgian stone town with a vibrant community of artistic and creative people to inspire him, he now works listening to the cries of seagulls in a south western Devon seaside town, nature calling constantly. His botanical works are a juxtaposition of the fine arts and the detail afforded by macro photography. A complementary combination of aesthetics and the beauty of natural world geometry. The transition from technically perfect photography to the adoption of a fine art style came naturally from his long term appreciation of this finesse across all genres. When creating, he begins a piece with the final result in mind but is always open to new processes along the way. His expectation is that when people see his work they are able to feel the beauty in the subject that first captured him. Part of his joy in working on a new piece of art is the sense of contentment at being able to recreate visual experiences and the anticipation of future sharing. Whilst working within photography he is reminded that he is capturing a moment in time, be it staged or natural, a literal and graphical snapshot of history. More recently David has also been studying the works of the generative artists, those artists who sculpt computer art with algorithm manipulation. Their ability to map the numeric world to the artistic is inspiring him to create similar and Is looking forward to sharing those pieces.
