About The Artwork
Ok, this one have a story, or even history, and it still being in the making, meaning this piece is still being used as a basis for creating more art. Let me explain. So it actually had started many years back, but I was working a lot on very meticulous and detail oriented collage mixed media pieces, working with cut outs, precious gems and metals and creating these crazy pieces that were almost sculptures on the surface, like almost objects, such as swords shape collages to be precise. I would have custom made wooden panels in the size I'd need and roast them up with a burner gun or just somehow apply fire to it so it would have this deep dark roasted wood chocolaty sort of look, very natural and organic looking, I wanted it to seem like it's been through something and would sort of keep aging and like the coal corners would chip off and so with time it would mature and age visibly, but rather adding to the whole look. I remember I first had that idea long ago, actually right before I even started making art, back in London, while visiting a small private gallery in Soho and saw one piece that got me excited and I remember I thought that was very unique and different. So almost 7-8 years later that inspiration got to be in works. So back to my piece. Those pieces would feel rather like smith's work. So this particular panel I had burned and prepared but never got to proceed with the collage so it just was laying about, aging and chipping off as intended. Later I was dabbling with some cubism and decided to use that panel for a sorta cubism piece. To do so I taped it up to create the pattern that I wanted and applied the paint and when I did I just loved the way it looked without taking the tape off, so I made a scan of it and decided to make it as a piece itself. That original piece and the print of that unfinished design in their turn got to be later still progressing into more artworks, that I will post and continue the story under those new posts.Stay tuned
