About The Artwork

I love working with natural materials. This work was created using the ancient encaustic technique with marble powder and marsh lime. Beautiful bright accents were created with tea bag paper and wax. I spun a yarn from paper and then wove it.

I am a self-taught artist. I have enjoyed my artistic training with various lecturers. I spent a semester learning how to draw, paint and design at M-Art. Further education never stops for me, annual courses are always a highlight for me and a must for progress. My highlight 2023 encaustic days with Ursi Lysser! For me, creating art means working with different materials and objects. It also means dealing with the present and the past in our world. My paintings are created very spontaneously. My four main focuses: Encaustic: Encaustic is an ancient art form in which wax is used as the main medium. The encaustic painting is created by melting colored beeswax and applying it to a surface such as wood or other solid objects. The technique creates a fascinating texture and depth that gives the artwork a unique visual appeal. Each encaustic painting is a unique handmade piece where I apply the layer of wax using tools such as brushes, palette knives, pigments, etc. Encaustic paintings are durable and can last for centuries if they are cared for properly. It is important to protect the painting from direct sunlight and not to hang or place it near heat sources. If the surface of the picture becomes foggy, you can simply wipe it off carefully with a soft cloth. The encaustic technique offers a wide range of design possibilities - from realistic depictions to abstraction. The colors have a special sheen due to the use of wax as a medium, creating unique effects in the artwork. As an artist, I love this technique because of its versatility and organic character. Each work has its own charm and its own story to tell - just as each person has their own individual personality. If you are interested in finding out more about my work as an encaustic artist or even want to purchase a unique handmade piece yourself - don't hesitate to contact me! Mixedmedia: Pigments, marble powder, marsh lime, earth, ash... this is how my natural works are created. Applying and removing the materials gives a great naturalness and liveliness, the different materials transform and spontaneous structures and forms emerge. As I continue to work, I have to fully engage with the picture, see what it has given me. Acrylic painting: these strong colors tempt me to create colorful abstract but also representational paintings on canvas. I create abstract fields of flowers, faces and sometimes even stories.
