About The Artwork

Inspired by large, modern flower arrangements that adorn magnificent entrance halls, lobbies, and manor houses, Wild Flowers in a Clay Pot is a depiction of a bouquet of wild summer flowers designed in a rustic clay pot. Wild Flowers in a Clay Pot is a contemporary mixed media painting with elements of digital illustrations, acrylic on canvas, and pen and ink. The vibrant red, yellow, and blue colors bring the foreground to life contrasted against a deep purple background. This artwork will be ready to ship between 4 - 6 weeks after purchase.

Exploration and innovation form the basis of my artwork. I don’t believe in the conventional practice of creating a very cohesive body of work, where the art pieces are like siblings dressed in similar clothes. I alternate between traditional paintings and digital drawings using common geometrical concepts as my building blocks. Throughout millennia, lines, triangles, pyramids, spheres and other geometric tools have been fundamental to art as well as architecture. I often start a project from a mental image by exploring new ways of combining these shapes, discarding many creations along the way until I have an evocative piece. A true work of art to me is one that interacts with its viewer in an intimate way; a meditative piece that promotes different emotions every time it’s seen. Each one of us leads a uniquely complex life, and how we experience art is quite personal. One size does not fit all, and this has been an important factor in the success of abstract art forms. My art is abstract, expressive, and sometimes conceptual. However, I have no interest in labels, or categorizations. Alongside each art piece, I may drop a few hints, clues to my original thought process; the rest of the experience is entirely up to the viewer.
