Maria Mendes is a multi disciplinary artist based in Porto. After finishing her bachelor in Cinema at the Lisbon Cinema School in 2011, Maria moved to Berlin where she started developing her video and photographic work in a more experimental and individual way. There, Maria also got the chance to collaborate with different musicians and visual artists, work as a freelance videographer, full time editor and to study at UDK - university of arts Berlin. After almost four years of living in Berlin Maria moved back to Portugal and starts getting more into working still images using various digital and analog processes and mixing both. In 2017 starts collaborating with the label In Silent Series, making the artwork for the records and developing video content while studying Motion Graphics in Lisbon. Currently she lives in Porto where she is working as a freelance visual artist.
