Kelly Stiles is a graphic designer and visual artist living in San Francisco. In 2016, after nearly three decades of creating and managing corporate brands, Kelly drew upon her graphic design experience to begin creating typography-based artwork. Inspired by the power and beauty of typography to evoke feelings and stir the senses, Kelly’s work explores the relationship between letters and words, the deconstruction of letterforms and the layering of color, texture and shapes to add expression and meaning to words. Kelly’s career as a brand strategist and designer allowed her to work with a widely diverse group of organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, across a number of industries. Kelly's design work has been published worldwide in such publications as Communication Arts, Graphis, AR 100, Print, Financial World and a host of other regional and national journals. In addition, her work has been honored by the American Center for Design 100 Show, various AIGA exhibitions, The Type Directors Club, and The Art Directors Club of New York. Two annual reports are included in a permanent environmental collection at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. She lives in Presidio Heights with her partner, Laura, two daughters, Sophie and Lilian, and a miniature labradoodle, Mia.
