Art Description

New Media: Ink, Digital on Paper.

At this point in time Broulee Island is connected to mainland of Australia, It is a wonderful exampled of native Australian flora and fauna.

The current tombolo or isthmus or spit formed slowly and about 15 years ago you could walk from the mainland to the Island. When I first encountered Broulee Island in the 1970s there was a deep channel between the Island and the mainland. I remember seeing dolphins swimming there.

Broulee Island is about 300 km south of Sydney. The painting I have done was inspired by a walk on the northern side of the Island in July 2020. Even though winter, the sun was shining and it was 18 degrees. The soft colours were very calming.
