Art Description

New Media: Ink, Digital, Marker, Dye Transfer and Monotype on Paper and Other.

The De La Warr Pavilion and Colonnades in Bexhill have a fascination for me. I have studied the building in all weather and light conditions producing a large body of work consisting of paintings, iPad drawings, dye transfer and multi media prints on maple wood, canvas and photographic paper. I am particularly interested in spatial and planar dynamics. I was also inspired by the transfer work I did when I did a short period of working with Richard Hamilton at Reading University.

Much of the work contains subtle distortions, resists, deliberate and uncontrolled faults which are intentional.
I am hoping the viewer will see these eccentricities and the varied facets of this unique building.
