About The Artwork

In Japanese language, 'Kawaii' means adorable, cute, childlike or even attractive. It can be referred to humans, animals, objects and even handwritings or fictional figures. This series is called Kawaii because I am a great fan of the 'cuteness culture' of Japan. I’ve tried to imagine what it would be like, if my objects at home would come to life - similar to the movie Beauty and the Beast, where objects can talk and act in cute manners. Also most of my Kawaii artworks are an approximation to the still life art or my eternal love for the Ikebana. This artwork features a small bowl with a cartoon face. It is unframed.

Born 1994 Based in Solothurn, Switzerland Sossey Ginkyo known as Francisco Fausto Braga is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist working on the field of art, music, product design, fashion and more. With his art, he tries to capture the mood of a moment and convey a feeling of intimate connection with God, nature and mankind. The all-seeing eye, alien creatures and colorful motives are recurring features of his work. Core messages are timeless themes such as longing, world-weariness, grief and hope. Creative thinking and designing is his favorite activity. He sees art as an expression and essence of his personality. Even as a young child, he was very fond of painting, drawing fictional characters and worlds; creating the craziest stories, how they came to be and how they related to the real world. His greatest fascination was with the animated series of Japan. Cartoons and anime are still some of the essential components of his artwork. The creative work was a refuge from day-to-day confrontations with himself and the world, he studied theology in 2017 which was decisive for his art. In one of the courses, he had the task of creatively depicting and interpreting the secret nature of God. In the process, he created his first official work of art with the name: Ethereal beings. On an autumn afternoon, after a walk in the woods, he created his first designs. First, it was a chopped tree trunk decorated with many eyes. Later he designed other creatures, which had the shape of a column or various objects. Thus it was the birth of the ethereal beings.
