About The Artwork

This is a piece from an ongoing limited edition print collection loosely inspired by Mondrian. This piece features an Eyed Hawkmoth. The perspective highlights their impressive wings that appear to resemble a Wolf's face; hence I called WolfMoth in brackets. These interesting creatures can be found locally on Vancouver Island. This piece is made from a photo I took of one. Each piece is printed on canvas with a black edge gallery wrap. Each piece is numbered and signed by the Artist.

My name is Michelle Randle; (MRandle), I was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, on Vancouver Island. I still live there. I graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2009 with a diploma in Fine Arts, Visual Art. I work primarily with paint; oil and acrylic, and I also create Limited Edition Prints digitally. Interestingly I work left handed when I paint and right handed when I work digitally. My style is expressive. I paint what I am called to paint. Intuitively subject matter appeals to me and ignites a creative flow that I respond too and I initiate the creation of that inspiration. For me that is being in tune to creative flow. When I create I fall into an 'in the moment' state. Time, identity, thoughts, disappear and pure creative instinct takes hold. I live for that! I am inspired by a large range of subject matter. Popular culture, landscape, movies, books, dance, meditation, music, people, form, animals, space, and the unexplained. My work generally hosts bold colour and brushstrokes. I have exhibited in many parts of the world and thankfully I have been lucky enough to sell some of my work while living and I hope to continue on that path.
