VIEW IN MY ROOM
The "Not a game" series explores the visions of the future inspired by the videogames of the 1980´s. This one, Poppies, uses the Atari video game “Air Sea Battle” to reflect on the childish fantasy of combat versus the adult realization of the horror of needless war. The flowers depicted here, poppies, are the source of opium, morphine, and heroin. Afghanistan, a small and unrich country, subjected to the attacks of both the Soviet Union and the USA in recent decades, is the biggest producer of poppies in the world.
