Red Rooster is part of a larger portfolio, “See What I Hear”, of illustrations based on song lyrics. The Red Rooster / Little Red Rooster. The song by Howlin’ Wolf / Rolling Stones was written by Willie Dixon. “Well, if you see my little red rooster / Please drag him home / There no peace in the barnyard / Since the little red rooster been gone” Like many blues songs, this one is a double entendre that uses a rooster to reference a womanizing male. The image size is 12 x 12 in. with a 2 in. boarder. The paper size is 16 x 16 in. Each print is produced in an edition of 33 on acid free archival paper and signed and numbered in the boarder below the image.
