Two weeks before my Grandpa passed away we had a conversation about life and how knowing he only had a few months left to live made him feel. He looked at me and he said, it’s like I lived the most beautiful dream and I wouldn’t change a thing because I took every blessing I could get. Not knowing how soon his passing would be, I went home that evening and wrote the first verse of what would later become Sailor Sail On. The story of my Grandpa’s last few days and the aftermath afterwards in which I wrote Lucky Penny. It is hard to you lose someone you love dearly and it’s even harder to admit that at some point you got to let them go because they’re not coming back. Today would have been my Grandpa’s 89th birthday and even though he isn’t here anymore I hope he’s happy sailing in the clouds. Love, Anemary
