About The Artwork

About the Serie ¨Earthscars¨ “Origin of all research is an interest in our planet, its nature, its topography, the distortions on the surface and also the climate zones that exist even in my native country of Switzerland in various forms. Moreover there is the excitement that mankind is willing to change that surface since time immemorial. Whether it is to dig for water, for ore or coal mining, for gold and silver prospecting, or to find a shorter route for ships between two oceans and to connect them and to build gigantic channels, or to construct machines that are required to build these channels ... All these interventions on Earth’s surface can not be made without leaving traces and marks and scars.” For finding such traces and signs, nothing is better than the screening of the surface from the air.

About my art : 'DIGITALLAND' I work on projects with visual artistic alienation by digital techniques and 3D computer programs. My cycle "Digital Country" shows image processing, which proceed from nature photographs. There are motives, as we encounter them often, but we pay little attention. Small changes can suddenly change our perception greatly. They seem alien and yet strangely attractive. I change the photos to encourage and deepen their essence and aura. With my pictures I want to surprise perception, heighten curiosity and entice the senses in the nature of the fantasy world. 'MUSUMPIECES' (Renderings) ... 'The first step is digital'. The context for my 'foundlings' and 'Museum Pieces' are always the lattice models in a three-dimensional space. Only the full 'digital ' range od the 3D-Computerrogramm allows me to combine with positive forms of negative forms. The Analog and thus the classical part of the process is to be applied by means of images on the 'pieces' in the use of textures. (taken by Camera out in the Nature) Light sources in different positions, shapes and colors contribute to the dynamics and plasticity. The circle closes, as soon as the finished work finds its way from the virtual world to the physically existing canvas. The main input for my work I get from nature. It could therefore meteorites, organic creatures or giant bacteria (...), sculptures made of cast iron, stone, brass or bronze, cavities of a casting process, deposits of limestone, sediments from the deep sea or cultic ritual accessories from the past or the future? Or simply colored fittings that stimulate the eye to to their own imagination to follow again more ... ? The series 'replicators' deliberately focuses on representational confusion. Usually there are sculptures made of heavy material or hardware remain the rigid spiral in shape. All works are printed with light fast inks on high quality canvas.
