About The Artwork

Currently, this piece is being professionally photographed. The price TBD. Inspiration for this came in many forms-from a connection to the sense of sport, adventure, innovation and defying all odds, and human history. Some say that there is no real coincidence-that somehow, some way, some day, somewhere each of us arrives at a specific point for a reason-sometimes unbeknownst to oneself and to one another. This painting reflects one of those moments in time! Am glad the human spirit rose from the ashes/debris where the Freedom Tower now stands-as a backdrop for such a challenging event of skill, daring,innovation-and hard work--thus, bringing the human family together for doing something positive! Coincidentally? -- shared a cab ride with previous World Cup sailors and admired their great spirit! --took on a painting challenge via an inventor who had checked out some of these Catamarans, --the adventure of the sea, boats, and different modes of transportation are intertwined in my family's DNA. Some guided by the North Star--sailed with Henry Hudson, worked the seaports, and even helped to settle New Amsterdam, and beyond--and fought for freedom. -- The area of the Freedom Towers sits on some old family and kin's former homesteads and farms. So, am thanking the innovators, the freedom fighters, the brave souls who helped to try make things better for generations to come with this work, and the adventurers! I hope that the viewers will reflect on the idea that never take anything for granted-the cost of freedom isn't free. Thomas Moore. Oh, Freedom! once thy flame hath fled, It never lights again. So, named this Freedom to Sail.
