About The Artwork

Also available in the following sizes (please enquire for more information): A2: $270 A1: $610 ‘Texas Horned Lizard’ is the original from a series of charcoal wildlife drawings. Violet uses an intricate technique on a large scale focusing especially on her subject’s innate characters. Here she captures the minute intricacies that make up this charming yet impressive lizard. Violet was drawn to this lizard in particular due to its only reaching 69mm long and its ability to squirt an aimed stream of blood from their eyes for up to 1.5 meters to defend themselves. Sadly the species is in decline due to overuse of pesticides.
